About Last Mile Health
Founded by survivors of Liberia's civil war, Last Mile Health's mission is to save lives in the world's most remote communities. We partner with governments to build strong community health systems that equip professionalized community health workers to deliver essential, primary healthcare to rural and remote communities. Our vision is a health worker within reach of everyone, everywhere.
Since our inception in 2007, we've engaged in numerous initiatives to improve health outcomes in underserved areas. Our work started by launching an HIV treatment program with minimal funding, rapidly evolving to create a national community health worker program in Liberia. This program has been essential in extending healthcare services to populations that previously lacked access. By collaborating with Ministries of Health across multiple countries, including Ethiopia, Malawi, and Sierra Leone, we strive to transform health systems and improve community health financing through initiatives like Africa Frontline First.
