CAD Demo Architect, Senior

US Remote with a preference for Boston, MA.

Role Summary

The CAD Demo Architect is a core member of the Technical Demo Development organization, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering compelling Creo demonstrations and assets that showcase the value of PTC’s product portfolio. This multidisciplinary role blends deep CAD expertise, product storytelling, cross-functional collaboration, and video production.

The CAD Demo Architect creates high‑impact demonstration kits and polished technical videos that equip global sales, marketing, and customer success with scalable, value‑driven assets. These demonstrations support outcomes ranging from flagship, event‑level showcases to modular kits that highlight specific capabilities, aligned with the organization’s mission to deliver engaging, value-centric CAD experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Architect & Deliver Demonstration Kits

  • Lead the end-to-end‑ development of CAD (Creo) demo kits, ranging from simple capability spotlights to fully integrated Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios spanning multiple PTC products (e.g., CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM)
  • Gather and reconcile requirements from cross‑functional stakeholders including Product Management, Segment Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and Solution Consulting.
  • Build deliverables such as:
  • Demo scripts, scenario narratives, and value messaging
  • Software “picks and clicks” workflows
  • Training videos with audio walkthroughs emphasizing features, benefits, and value propositions
  • Supporting documentation for global scalability and field enablement

Collaborate with global subject-matter experts to ensure technical and business alignment across all assets.

Develop Technical Videos

  • Serve as the on‑camera and/or narrative expert who clearly articulates CAD capabilities in the context of business value, industry relevance, and a compelling story arc.
  • Script, record, and produce video content that effectively demonstrates core product functionality, advanced use cases, and end‑to‑end digital thread workflows. Videos cover the full sales cycle, from social media content to validation support
  • Collaborate with the Technical Demo Visualization (demo video production) team for editing, voiceover, and production enhancements.

Develop & Support Industry Event Demonstrations

  • Partner with stakeholders to design and develop PLM demonstrations within comprehensive Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios for global industry events.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Intelligent Product Lifecycle demonstrations, presenting to customers at industry conferences and exhibitions.
  • Develop enablement materials and provide training to technical personnel on demonstration content for industry event presentations.
  • Compose scripts for demonstration videos and enablement materials.
  • Facilitate the scaling of demonstration content created for industry events for use by field resources such as Solution Consultants.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on experience using PTC Creo in a production or product development environment
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Parametric part and assembly modeling
  • Complex assemblies and top‑down design
  • Family tables and configuration management
  • 2D drawings and GD&T per ASME standards
  • Model-Based Definition (MBD)
  • Surfacing and advanced geometry
  • Mechanism design and motion simulation
  • Simulation and FEA
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals:
  • Materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
  • Experience managing CAD data and revisions within a PLM system (Windchill preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering requirements and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Knowledge of downstream engineering workflows:
  • BOM structures and change management (ECR/ECO)
  • Manufacturing handoff and documentation

Compensation (CIP)

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $91,000-121,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs. Employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and, if you are an office-assigned employee, a generous commuter subsidy.
