Disability Claims Examiner - Short-Term Disability/Absence (Virtual)

As a Disability Claim Examiner, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers during some of the most important moments of their lives. You will manage a caseload of Short-Term Disability and Absence claims, applying sound judgment, analytical expertise, and empathy to deliver timely, accurate, and fair claim decisions. The current employee work arrangement for this position is fully virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.

What you can expect:

• Independently manage a designated block of Disability and Absence claims from intake through resolution.

• Deliver accurate, timely, and well-reasoned claim decisions in accordance with policy provisions and regulatory requirements.

• Serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders by providing clear, compassionate, and professional communication.

• Maintain a strong focus on customer experience, ensuring claimants feel supported and informed throughout the process.

• Analyze medical, occupational, and financial information to determine eligibility and ongoing benefits.

• Build and maintain productive customer relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and sound judgment.

• Consistently meet productivity, quality, and service metrics in a fast paced, performance driven environment.

• Collaborate with peers and leaders while demonstrating the ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.

What you’ll need:

It’d be a plus if you had:

• 2–3 years of experience managing Short Term Disability and/or Absence claims.

• Previous knowledge of claim and risk management, including contract interpretation and administration.

• College degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
