Pontosense

Pontosense began with a simple yet transformative belief: technology should support people, not watch them, burden them, or get in the way of everyday life. Founded in 2021 in Toronto, Canada, the company emerged from the vision of a team of engineers and scientists who saw the limitations of traditional wearable devices. They recognized that for health monitoring to be truly effective and dignified, especially for the elderly, it needed to be invisible and contactless. Drawing on a deep well of technical expertise—including over 500 patents in wireless technology—the founders set out to build a system that could measure vital signs with medical-grade accuracy using only radio frequency waves.

What started as a mission to revolutionize aging-in-place technology has grown into a global innovation in wireless sensing. Pontosense developed 'Wireless Intelligent Sensing' (WISe), a proprietary technology that uses mmWave RADAR and advanced AI algorithms to detect micromovements as small as 0.2 millimeters. This allows their systems to monitor breathing, heart rate, and heart rate variability without cameras, microphones, or wearables. Today, Pontosense's technology is deployed in homes and healthcare facilities, providing families and care teams with peace of mind through real-time fall detection and wellness insights, all while strictly preserving the privacy and dignity of the individuals it protects.
