Plus Power began its journey in 2018 with a clear vision: to develop, own, and operate standalone battery energy storage systems that enhance grid reliability and enable a more efficient electrical grid. What started as a San Francisco-based startup quickly recognized the burgeoning opportunities in the energy sector, particularly in Texas. This led to a strategic shift, establishing its headquarters in The Woodlands, near Houston, in 2022 to better focus on the critical Texas market and its significant investments in the region. The company operates at the dynamic intersection of energy, technology, and finance, positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly transforming U.S. energy markets.

Led by a team of seasoned executives with deep experience in the renewables and energy storage industry, Plus Power has consistently been at the forefront of accelerating the deployment of transmission-connected battery storage across the United States. Their data-driven approach allows them to strategically site projects that alleviate grid congestion, boost transmission efficiency, and support the evolving needs of the transitioning electric grid. Plus Power's portfolio showcases a commitment to innovation and a forward-thinking strategy, having secured a significant supply of batteries to ensure the successful execution of projects coming online through 2025. The company's projects are designed to provide not just energy and capacity, but also critical grid services, acting as assets of last resort during times of stress and peak demand. With an impressive development pipeline of 10 gigawatts across numerous U.S. states and Canadian provinces, Plus Power is dedicated to solving complex grid problems and fueling a future powered by dependable and innovative energy solutions.
