Annuity Underwriting Manager

Location: This role is fully remote (or based in our London, Telford or Edinburgh) with a requirement to be in our Telford office twice a month.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Annuity Underwriting Service Manager leading our Annuity Underwriting team.

The role

You’ll manage and develop a team of 5 underwriters in the Annuity underwriting team to ensure a quality and compliant service is provided to all customers. You will use your annuity underwriting skills to ensure decision making is in line with philosophy and our SLAs through case review and audit. You’ll work closely with the managers responsible for our underwriting philosophy and broker support team as well as our wider management team.

You will also be required to consider the more complex underwriting circumstances presented by customers to ensure the underwriting philosophy is adhered to and the best possible terms are provided.

What are we looking for?

You’ll be a people manager who can develop and motivate the Annuity Underwriting team, with excellent communication skills, a track record of excellent service delivery and a good understanding of annuity underwriting.
