ROLE SUMMARY

Vyndamax is the anchor of the Rare Disease portfolio and continues to see unprecedented growth in its fourth year on market. It is a crucial growth driver in Specialty care. It is the only FDA-approved treatment for patients with ATTR cardiac amyloidosis. With its 2019 launch, Pfizer cemented its position as a global leader in the field of ATTR-amyloidosis. There is an exciting opportunity to join Vyndamax at the crucial part of its lifecycle, and deliver this breakthrough medicine to patients.

The Amyloidosis Thought Leader Engagement Team Lead Secondment will be responsible for enhancing our category leadership in Amyloidosis by executing against an opinion leader strategy across therapeutic areas while leading and developing a team. The position will report directly to the VP, US Amyloidosis Lead

The Team Lead is responsible for leading the development of the organizational priority of maintaining Pfizer as a leader within the Amyloidosis. Within the purview of this role will be:

  • Lead a team of 2-3 Opinion Leader Liaisons
  • Act as a regional liaison
  • Owning the Thought Leader Engagement team’s execution against the strategic plan for building and advancing Pfizer reputation in the Amyloidosis space, with direct accountability for the execution of the Thought Leader plans.
  • Partner with Government Relations, Policy, Medical, and Commercial colleagues to support the development and advancement of plans.
  • Lead the execution of the cross-therapeutic area engagement plan for national and regional KOLs, as well as identification of future leaders within amyloidosis
  • Build the capability for nurturing long lasting relationships to support market leadership, especially as it relates to building a strong reputation
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the TA, including diagnosis, patient care, current and future molecules, guidelines, etc.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of operating procedures to ensure that all activities are consistent with Pfizer’s highest standards for compliance and integrity.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Team Lead serves as the functional lead and point of contact for customer engagement interactions, and as a face of Pfizer to external Opinion Leaders (OL) in the United States. These responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of talented colleagues, consistently demonstrating a joyful, collaborative and people first mindset and supporting their development
  • Lead and develop, in partnership with key functions within the commercial team a ONE-Pfizer approach that fully integrates Opinion Leader & key stakeholder engagement plans inclusive of physicians, KOLs, researcher, and patients to maximize the life-cycle of Vyndamax in the US, and the broader Rare Cardiology space
  • Obtain therapeutic insights from Opinion Leaders and key stakeholders to help advance brand strategies
  • Lead and direct insight-gathering from 1:1 engagements, small group meetings, and national and regional advisory boards for actionable commercial implementation
  • Oversee the development of Opinion Leader and key stakeholder engagement metrics such as post-engagement evaluation forms, post-congress Opinion Leader / PFE meeting evaluations, and annual top-tier opinion leader industry benchmark survey
  • Establish and maintain organizational processes and guidelines (in partnership with legal/compliance) to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to Opinion Leader and key stakeholder engagement
  • Create and maintain up-to-date Tafamidis Opinion Leader & Key Stakeholder list, and track engagements for the team
  • Coordinate and help facilitate global speaking engagement opportunities (symposia, speaker tours)
  • Facilitate connecting Opinion Leaders and key stakeholders to the appropriate internal subject matter experts, as needed
  • Strategic Projects
  • Based on insights from Opinion Leaders, key stakeholders, and market research, develop proposals for strategic US promotional projects that drive innovation while meeting key business objectives.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional partners, develop a plan for Opinion Leader & key commercial engagements at national congresses that helps align commercial presence and includes clear objectives and discussion points
  • Develop actionable metrics for PFE amyloidosis presence at key congresses/meetings, and track vs. goals.
  • Identifying and executing approved strategic projects that support innovations and help meet key Pfizer objectives
  • Uphold an unwavering commitment to compliance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA degree required; Advanced degree preferred with 15+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or diagnostic industry.
  • Experience in Amyloidosis required
  • Prior experience leading a team preferred
  • Prior experience engaging with key Opinion Leaders in strategic capacity (Opinion Leader Relations, Marketing or Advocacy) required
  • Proven ability to build and maintain external and customer relations
  • Understanding of commercial, brand and franchise needs, including relevant scientific, medical, economic and policy-related matters related to this therapeutic area
  • Proven understanding of key trends in both internal and external environment
  • Ability to work in a changing regulatory environment
  • Sound judgment in critical decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Highest level of commitment to Pfizer’s compliance culture.
