A Day In The Life...

Reporting to our Head of Engineering you’ll join a small but growing agile team of highly talented engineers working on building scalable solutions. You’ll be pivotal in driving a new project developing and maintaining our mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement mobile solutions that meet our clients' needs. We’re looking for someone who has had varying experiences in the front-end technology space, has knowledge on improving application performance and scalability so they can contribute to the overall front-end applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stake holders on the Petlab product making sure you understand requirements;
  • Collaborating and designing technical solutions business stake holders that satisfy functional and non-functional needs;
  • Develop and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native;
  • Ensuring the platform is performant, secure, scalable, robust, reliable and high quality, well tested code in the critical areas;
  • Planning and evolving the technical architecture of the platform with the teams;
  • Championing and sharing best practices to improve the team and code over time;

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years working as a react native engineer, and expert in mobile native technology;
  • Excellent understanding and experience of programming languages and paradigms (object oriented, functional);
  • Integration experience via RESTful and GraphQL API’s (Shopify, BuilderIO etc...) for workflow and data;
  • Experience with unit and integration testing, mocking and build quality into applications;
  • Experience building highly scalable mobile applications;
  • Prior experience leading or managing large complex solutions and/or software teams with component architecture, solution documentation, production support, and external clients;
  • Excellent appreciation for UI/UX design and best practices;
  • Enthusiastic self-starter that will be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven ability to quickly build and maintain authentic relationships and trust with individuals;

Desirable:

  • Experience working with the eCommerce domain and mobile application architecture;
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing automation, payment processing and customer engagement;
  • Experience with Shopify and Gatbsy.js for templating;
  • Experience with AWS Lambda;
