Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for supporting the District Manager in meeting sales targets against the business fundamentals within a geographical territory of customers.

This customer-facing role requires regular and frequent customer interaction, and in order to be successful the Sales Associate must be well organized, self-motivated and possess a strong will to win. This position provides the opportunity to build on outside sales skill set and was developed to transition into open District Manager roles.

This position is offered as a 12-month contract, with an option to renew for an additional 12 months. In line with contract arrangements, the role does not include additional compensation elements or health care benefits but offers a base salary of $50,000.00 and car allowance.

The ideal candidate will be based in Toronto (east of Yonge Street) or within the GTA East corridor, supporting a territory that extends to Oshawa.

What will you do:

  • Under guidance of District Manager, it supports a regular call cycle and service of liquor stores, agency, and grocery accounts.
  • Work with the District Manager in territory to support their needs in highest volume accounts.
  • Supporting District Managers in delivering monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for territory in order to support Corby’s overall business goals.
  • Apply promotions to Corby product portfolio as approved by customer’s head office. Promotional items consist of but are not limited to: 50ml value-add, neck tags, non-liquid value-add items, gift box or bags, and rebate coupons.
  • Report inventory issues to District Manager promptly or where possible handle the situation themselves so that it can be addressed with store staff.
  • In collaboration with District Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring that monthly and quarterly sales objectives are developed, assist in loading into Corby’s CRM and that the appropriate progress/tracking mechanisms are in place.
  • Responsible for understanding and executing against Corby’s standards in collaboration with District Manager.
  • Accountable for learning, understanding and implementing the ‘Corby Approach to Selling’ standards in each sales call.
  • Able to operate effectively and collaboratively within a team environment; must contribute positively to overall team performance and dynamics.
  • Responsible for the timely reporting of competitor information and activity to District Manager.
  • Accountable to perform all administrative duties to a high standard and to the appropriate timelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong Customer Service Experience with proven success in a Sales/Service environment.
  • Industry related sales experience an asset.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Travel required (local) - must have valid driver's license and use of vehicle (gas card and car allowance provided).
  • Team oriented.

Education Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent.
