The story of OTL Akademie began in 2014 with a vision born from frustration. Founder Ben Sattinger, a former Luftwaffe officer and fitness enthusiast, realized that existing training programs for fitness licenses were rigid, expensive, and tied to specific locations and times. Determined to change this, he teamed up with his best friend Sven Faltin to create a solution that would modernize education in the fitness sector.
What started as a bold idea to make education more accessible has grown into Germany's first TÜV-certified online academy for fitness, nutrition, and health. Launching their first course in March 2015, the company rapidly expanded its portfolio to include state-approved licenses and specialized certifications. Today, OTL Akademie is a multi-million euro company that has empowered over 22,000 graduates to turn their passion into a career, all while operating as a fully remote organization without external investors.
