About the Opportunity
Orium is seeking a support Developer to maintain and optimize Order Management Systems (OMS) and Point of Sale (POS) platforms. In this role, you’ll provide development support, resolve issues, and ensure smooth system operations. Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you’ll work on troubleshooting, maintaining APIs, and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and retail operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Order Management System (OMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop and maintain APIs and middleware for seamless system data exchange.
- Track and document support requests and incidents using a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.
- Analyze incident trends to identify recurring issues and recommend proactive measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Work closely with software developers to validate changes, conduct regression testing, and ensure new functionalities meet business requirements.
- Provide feedback on system improvements and collaborate on the development of new solutions to enhance retail operations.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with some hands-on experience in retail industry operations and commerce data infrastructure.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Python with experience in serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda); familiarity with React is a plus.
- Expertise in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and message brokers (e.g., SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
- Knowledge of OMS (Order Management Systems) and POS (Point of Sale) platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like CircleCI or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with microservices architecture and real-time data management using event streams.
- Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in a flexible and team-oriented environment.
- Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals and Software Engineering principles.
- Experience with AWS services for scalable solutions is a plus.
- Knowledge of headless architectures and commerce technologies (e.g., NewStore, Adyen, Avalara, commercetools, Elastic Path) is a plus.
- Experience with modern digital tools and an openness to integrating AI-powered solutions to enhance development efficiency, automation, and problem-solving.*
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to critically evaluate AI-assisted decision-making, workflow automation, and its impact on software development processes.*
- A mindset of continuous learning, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and trends.*

Compensation and Hiring Transparency
- Expected Compensation (Mexico): Compensation will be offered in MXN, aligned with local market benchmarks and the employment model. Final compensation will consider experience, skills, location, internal equity, and business needs.
