The role

The Principal Brand Designer position at One is a pivotal role in defining innovative ways to help people achieve balance in how they save, spend, and grow their money by creating approachable solutions that can give everyone a path toward financial well-being. This role will work to support building the One brand and its product offerings by designing across multiple platforms and channels. From launch campaigns to ongoing lifecycle and growth efforts – this person will have the ability to flex comfortably between initiatives, product lines, and mediums. The ideal candidate will possess strong conceptual thinking and design skills, leveraging expertise in graphic design systems and cross-functional collaboration to create compelling, scalable, and consistent creative solutions.

This role is responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with the Design Studio, copywriting partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work, always considering the customer experience.

  • Ability to identify systems and scalable solutions that can increase efficiency and consistency while working at a rapid pace.

  • Being resourceful by connecting the dots between product strategy, experience flows, and marketing goals to offer up sound creative solutions.

  • Working independently on multiple projects at a high caliber level.

  • Ideating and creating at high speed and volume, managing multiple projects with short timelines.

  • Partnering with fellow designers, fostering a culture of design excellence.

  • Solving creative problems effectively and adapting to changing needs.

  • Generating innovative conceptual ideas alongside talented team members to support anything from the smallest creative tasks to full campaign concepts.

  • Taking ownership of projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining consistency across all deliverables.

  • Ideating and creating at high speed and volume, from concepts to final deliverables, managing multiple projects with short timelines

  • Building relationships with business and creative partners — and clearly articulating strategic thinking and design decisions to a variety of cross-functional teammates.

  • Contributing to a culture of excellence with a focus on craft and quality of the work.

  • Solid, imaginative design ability and expert understanding of the creative production process.

  • Additional duties as assigned by your manager.

You bring:

  • 7 years of hands-on agency or in-house design experience

  • Strong portfolio showcasing detailed, thought-provoking, and expertly crafted work.

  • Strong conceptualization, brainstorming, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work on numerous projects while handling multiple priorities with tight deadlines.

  • Effective time management, organization, and communication.

  • Expert design and typography skills.

  • Experience and high-proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC. After Effects and 3D experience are a plus.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology and design trends.

  • Deep understanding of graphic design and branding principles.

  • Self-starter, collaborative team player with a “can-do” attitude.

  • Curiosity and passion with a keen understanding of creative and cultural nuances for our audience.

Pay Transparency

The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 - $200,000. Pay is generally based upon the level, complexity, responsibility, and job duties / requirements of the specific position. We then source candidates with the requisite skills, expertise, education, training, and experience. Leveling Philosophy

In order to thoughtfully scale the company and avoid downstream inequities, we’ve adopted a flat titling structure at One. Though we may occasionally post a role externally with a prefix such as “Senior” to reflect the external level of the position, we do not use prefixes in titles like that internally unless in a position which manages a team. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.
