We brought back the disreputable drink of old to the modern world. At O'Donnell Moonshine, we are passionate about reviving the rebellious spirit of the American Prohibition era. Founded in 2014 by August Ullrich and Philip Morsink, our journey began with a road trip through the United States, where we were captivated by the fascinating history of moonshine—illegal alcohol distilled under the cover of night to avoid the authorities. Inspired by this legacy and the story of Spike O'Donnell, the leader of the South Side O'Donnell Gang in Chicago, we decided to bring this tradition back to life with a contemporary twist.
We handcraft our spirits and liqueurs in Germany using traditional methods and only the best natural ingredients. To complete the authentic experience, we bottle our 'Moonshine' in original American Mason Jars, just like the gangsters of the 1920s. From our 'High Proof' wheat-based spirit to our delicious liqueurs like 'Tough Nut' and 'Roasted Apple', we offer a unique taste experience that combines history with modern quality. We are proud to have grown from bottling the first jars in our living room to becoming a leading moonshine brand in Europe, all while maintaining our commitment to craftsmanship and tradition.
