NSTXL is creating an ecosystem of innovators to collaborate and bring next-generation technologies to the end-user. Our OTAs have over 900 members from corporate, non-profit, educational, and financial institutions. For these members, NSTXL offers opportunities to bid on government contracts, education and training, and live/virtual forums on various topics.
The Salesforce Architect serves as NSTXL’s primary technical authority for the design, development, and optimization of the Salesforce Government Cloud Plus CRM platform. This role combines technical depth with business acumen to ensure Salesforce effectively supports NSTXL’s mission, operations, and growth objectives. The Architect will lead system design, oversee integrations with internal and external systems, and drive the scalability, security, and usability of the Salesforce environment. They will serve as the Salesforce system owner, accountable for overall architecture, technical roadmap, and alignment within the enterprise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
System Architecture and Platform Strategy
- Design and maintain the overall Salesforce architecture to meet current and future organizational needs.
- Lead all technical aspects of Salesforce Government Cloud Plus environment
s, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and security alignment with NSTXL’s federal partner requirements. - Develop scalable architecture frameworks for new functionality, integrations, and process automation across business units.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reduce complexity through automation and optimization.
Solution Development and Delivery
- Configure, develop, and maintain our custom Salesforce environment with lightning components, complex workflows, and dashboards.
- Own and deliver custom-built solutions supporting project management, contract management, and reporting functionality.
- Partner with internal and external teams to design, test, and deploy new capabilities, ensuring successful adoption and long-term maintainability.
- Oversee deployment processes, change control, and technical documentation to maintain consistency and reliability across environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Business Partnership
- Partner closely with operational, program-specific, and data teams to understand business challenges and design effective Salesforce-based solutions.
- Act as a strategic advisor on CRM best practices, technical feasibility, and process alignment.
- Communicate complex technical topics in clear terms to stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to administrators, analysts, and other team members involved in Salesforce operations.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance
- Serve as system owner responsible for maintaining compliance with NSTXL’s data governance and federal security standards.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with integrations, architecture design, and system changes.
- Ensure data accuracy, access control, and audit readiness within Salesforce and integrated systems.
- Establish and maintain development standards, technical documentation, and architecture roadmaps.
Qualifications Expected for Position
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
Experience/Skills
- 7+ years of experience administering, developing, or architecting Salesforce solutions, with at least 3 years in a Salesforce Architect or equivalent technical leadership role.
- Direct experience with Salesforce Government Cloud or Government Cloud Plus required.
Proven success designing and deploying enterprise-scale Salesforce integrations with systems such as ERP, marketing automation, and data platforms. - Expertise with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and automation tools such as Flow and Process Builder.
- Experience mapping complex data elements and detailed integrations between Salesforce and other Marketplace partner systems.
- Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance frameworks applicable to public sector organizations.
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect certification strongly preferred
Travel:
- Travel for this position is estimated up to 10%
