The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) & Test Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies for mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) casualty and personnel support systems. This role ensures delivery of secure, reliable, and high-performing applications hosted in AWS GovCloud and hybrid environments.
The Senior QA & Test Engineer supports the full system lifecycle including discovery, development, modernization, integration, deployment, and operations & sustainment. Working within an Agile DevSecOps framework, this position ensures all solutions meet functional, performance, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements aligned with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and Zero Trust architecture.
This is a remote position with occasional onsite travel possible.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance and software/system testing.
Experience testing enterprise web-based applications and integrated systems.
Experience developing automated and manual test cases and scripts.
Experience supporting Agile and DevSecOps development environments.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
Experience validating data migrations, interfaces, and system integrations.
Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements including RMF, NIST 800-53, and STIG compliance.
Experience testing cloud-hosted systems (AWS preferred).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Experience supporting DoD casualty, personnel, or mission-critical enterprise systems.
Experience testing systems hosted in AWS GovCloud (IL2–IL5).
Experience implementing automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with API testing and integration testing tools.
Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and secure system validation.
Experience supporting ATO documentation and security control validation.
Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE), ISTQB, or similar QA certification.
Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
Experience supporting large-scale data migration and validation efforts.
