Key Responsibilities
The HR Onboarding Specialist will have the following key responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
- The HR onboarding specialist is the primary point of contact for and provides critical support to candidates, managers, and internal HR and business stakeholders
- The HR onboarding specialist is responsible for ensuring timely execution and completion of all onboarding requirements for new hires.
- Welcomes newly hired employees and executes the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey; manages the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a great experience for new employees
- Acts as a subject matter expert and makes recommendations on how to improve process efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with all processes and maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Challenges status quo and proactively identifies process improvements.
- Identifies innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees/reach a more scalable and measurable onboarding experience.
- Manage the Onboarding mailbox and administer requests as necessary
- Support the onboarding process for Nordic employees, including basic understanding of Nordic's benefits and payroll practices to ensure a positive employee experience
- Audit and review employee file documentation for compliance and proper storage
- Maintain compliance with client requirements, as well as federal and state regulations
- Provide administrative support to departmental leadership team
- Work on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 2 years’ experience within Human Resources, Compliance and/or Employee Onboarding required.
- Self-starter who pays attention to the details, works well under pressure and has ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Workday knowledge is highly preferred
- Ability to assess problems and ask meaningful and relevant questions to understand the issues and potential causes
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to troubleshoot, identify improvements, and make simple decisions independently
- Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
