About NextStep
NextStep connects top consulting talent with high-potential opportunities through smart, AI-powered matching. We partner with ambitious companies across sectors to place experienced professionals in roles where they can have a real impact. On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are looking for an Operations Analyst.
About the Company
Our client is a digital bank headquartered in London, offering current accounts, lending, and savings products to retail and SME customers across the UK. They are fully regulated, growing fast, and at the stage where operational rigour is as important as product innovation. The operations team sits at the intersection of customer experience, compliance, and process improvement, and plays a meaningful role in how the bank scales without accumulating operational risk.
The Role
As Operations Analyst, you will support the operations team in analysing performance, identifying inefficiencies, and driving the process improvements that keep the bank running well as it grows. You will work with data, engage cross-functionally, and contribute to the projects and change initiatives that improve how the bank serves its customers and manages its internal processes. This is a role for someone earlier in their career who brings analytical sharpness, structured thinking, and the drive to develop quickly.
What You'll Do
Analyse operational data to identify performance trends, process gaps, and improvement opportunities across key operational functions including customer servicing, onboarding, and dispute resolution.
Support the design and delivery of process improvement initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation tracking.
Build and maintain operational dashboards and reporting tools that give the team and leadership visibility into key metrics.
Work with product, risk, and compliance teams to understand dependencies and ensure operational changes are well-governed and aligned to regulatory requirements.
Prepare clear, structured presentations and briefing documents for operational reviews and senior leadership updates.
Contribute to the documentation of processes, controls, and standard operating procedures across the operations function.
Assist in the coordination and tracking of cross-functional projects, keeping stakeholders informed and workstreams on track.
What We're Looking For
1-3 years of experience in management consulting, operations, or an analytical role within a financial services or technology business.
Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with data, building reports, and producing structured, evidence-based recommendations.
Clear and well-organised written communication; able to produce documents and presentations that hold up in front of senior audiences.
Genuine interest in how financial services operations work, including the regulatory and risk dimensions.
Proactive and self-directed; someone who identifies problems and proposes solutions without waiting to be asked.
Collaborative and effective at building working relationships across teams and functions.
Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence platforms is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of £50,000 - £65,000, determined based on experience and scope.
Annual bonus tied to individual and team outcomes.
Additional benefits, including private health cover, pension, and leave entitlement, are detailed as part of the full offer package.
