Native Pet was founded in 2017 by two foodie friends, Dan Schaefer and Pat Barron, who returned to their hometown of St. Louis to address a significant gap in the pet supplement industry. The founders recognized that the existing pet supplement market was dominated by generic products from just two manufacturers, with 80% of supplements essentially being the same formula under different brand names. This realization drove them to develop proprietary, clean-label products that truly make a difference in dogs' health.

The company is redefining pet nutrition by creating high-quality, veterinarian-developed supplements made with whole-food ingredients. Every formula is developed in-house by their team, including one of only 40 Board-Certified Vet Nutritionists in the USA. Native Pet's products contain no fillers, no artificial additives, and never more than 5 inactive ingredients per product - compared to the industry average of 20+ inactive ingredients.
