The Team
As a Key Account Manager – Infectious Diseases, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Mundipharma’s strategic objectives in Switzerland. You are responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and market growth targets by implementing a targeted key account strategy, promoting our portfolio to relevant stakeholders, and navigating the complexities of the hospital environment. Through strong relationship-building, health economic understanding, and collaboration with internal teams, you will ensure optimal positioning and access for Mundipharma products in line with national healthcare dynamics.
Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Key Account Management
Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with decision-makers in assigned hospitals and healthcare institutions.
Create and execute tailored account and project plans based on local structures, funding flows, and treatment pathways.
Serve as a strategic partner to hospitals, identifying shared value opportunities aligned with our therapeutic areas.
Sales Performance & Portfolio Promotion
Achieve defined sales, profitability, and growth targets in the assigned region.
Represent and promote Mundipharma’s hospital-focused portfolio in line with brand and marketing strategies.
Effectively communicate product benefits and positioning to hospital pharmacists, physicians, procurement professionals, and health economic stakeholders.
Health Economics & Reimbursement Navigation
Develop a strong understanding of regional healthcare structures, hospital financing, and relevant reimbursement mechanisms.
Provide input on local access challenges, collaborate with Market Access & HEOR teams, and help adapt core value arguments to regional realities.
Support negotiation and listing processes to secure and maintain product availability in hospitals.
Market Intelligence & Internal Collaboration
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and local policies to identify opportunities and risks.
Share field insights regularly with cross-functional teams including Medical (MSLs), Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial Operations.
Ensure alignment with national strategy and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice exchange.
What you’ll bring
Proven experience in launching and introducing new products in the hospital environment.
Experience in hospital negotiation as a KAM for pharmaceutical/biotechnological/hospital products.
Experience in anti infectives or antifungals would be advantageous
Experience in the ICU setting.
University degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field would be ideal
Experience with ‘needs based’ selling is a plus.
Previous experience in hospital listing processes is necessary.
Previous experience in price negotiation in hospital pharmacy is a plus. Deep knowledge of the hospital pharmacies is a must
Previous experience launching drugs for rare diseases is also valued.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluent in German (mandatory); French and English is desired.
Highly skilled in presenting and interacting with healthcare professionals (HCP) and key opinion leaders (KOL)
