Merit Circle

Merit Circle is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) focused on revolutionizing the play-to-earn (P2E) gaming economy and the broader metaverse. Launched in September 2021, the organization aims to make P2E gaming more accessible globally, transforming gaming from a leisure activity into a potential revenue stream. It achieves this by aligning the interests of investors, players, and gaming platforms through strategic industry partnerships and a decentralized governance model. The Merit Circle DAO operates through a main entity responsible for overall platform governance (MainDAO) and several subDAOs that cater to specific segments of the P2E industry it supports. The MainDAO manages these subDAOs, generates revenue for the treasury, and oversees platform governance, while subDAOs focus on promoting earning strategies within individual supported games. Initially known as Axie 420, a scholarship program for the popular blockchain game Axie Infinity, Merit Circle has expanded its scope to support a variety of blockchain games and develop its own gaming-focused products and infrastructure.

The Merit Circle ecosystem is structured around four key verticals: Investments, Gaming, Studios, and Infrastructure. The Investments arm focuses on investing in promising web3 technologies, early-stage P2E projects, NFT gaming items, and in-game land. Merit Circle Gaming is dedicated to the development and integration of high-quality gaming projects, offering scholarships, educational content, and support for gamers. The Studios vertical is involved in incubating new games and supporting innovative projects, potentially even developing its own titles. A significant development under its Infrastructure vertical is Beam, an open-source blockchain network and ecosystem specifically designed for game development and gameplay, operating as an Avalanche Subnet. Beam aims to simplify blockchain integration for game developers and enhance the player experience with features like the Beam SDK, a native digital asset marketplace called Sphere, and low transaction fees. The native token of the Beam network is $BEAM, which is also central to the governance of the Merit Circle DAO. Merit Circle has a substantial treasury, reported to be over $100 million in assets, which it utilizes to fund its various initiatives and investments. The organization is committed to community-driven development and governance, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes.
