In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the HRIS Specialistis responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining the Human Resources Information Systems. The HRIS Specialist serve as a subject matter expert of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) initiatives, including system design, integration, maintenance, modifications, enhancements, and fixes to ultimately drive operational and functional efficiency. This position is responsible for identifying and analyzing new system opportunities, recommending new features, and building and executing implementation plans. The HRIS Specialist will work collaboratively with HR Team members and other departments to ensure complex technical needs are addressed timely and effectively. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
- Oversee department functions of the human resource information management systems.
- Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
- Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
- Develop user friendly procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Train staff and new system users on new processes/functionality.
- Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades or patches.
- Collaborate with IT staff to coordinate application of upgrades or fixes.
- Collaborate with other HR system users (Accounting, Billing, IT, etc.) to ensure integrity of the HRIS.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Information Systems, appropriately related field, or 6+ years of relevant application support experience required; 3 – 5 years of relevant HRIS experience highly desirable.
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and report writing skills required.
- Project Management training a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals, to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions, and to find solutions for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
Compensation Details: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
