Position Summary:

About this Opportunity:

We aren’t looking for a traditional floor manager to just watch queues and collate spreadsheets. We are looking for an operations expert and a strategic partner to the Director.

As the Manager of Data Operations, you will lead a group of Team Leads and a large hybrid/remote workforce, transforming them from reactive supervisors into strategic, data-driven coaches. You will sit at the intersection of human intelligence and machine learning—optimizing our classification, attribution, and product catalog workflows while ensuring seamless Global partnership between internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities and Impact Drivers: (not limited to)

  • Lead and manage the Operations function with 90-100 team members organized across complexity tiers, ensuring operational excellence and scalability.
  • Define and execute the operations roadmap, driving strategic initiatives including automation projects, process optimization, and technology partnerships. Continuously evaluate tools and processes and offer solutions to ensure they are efficient, high quality, and scalable.
  • Communicate effectively with other operations and/or program managers regarding risks, mitigation strategies, and success of various internal programs.
  • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify trends, automation opportunities, and areas for continuous improvement, driving innovation in operational processes. Ensure productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a periodic basis.
  • Communicating process health and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to senior management through weekly and monthly reviews.
  • Ensuring the team consistently processes multiple workloads against defined productivity targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Acting as the escalation point of contact for resolving workflow bottlenecks or process-related issues within assigned workflows.
  • Partner with Operations Support Functions (Quality, Training,Program Management, Governance) to ensure consistent quality standards, optimal resource allocation, and effective change management. Identify any key learnings/findings and metrics with regards to Operations process adherence, program improvement opportunity, escalation management opportunity.
  • Develop and mentor high-performing Team leaders and ICs, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, client first and growth mindset, while building clear career progression paths.
  • Oversee the hiring & training of new team members and support their development.
  • Working with Client Success teams to address and resolve client escalations or data concerns.

Role Mandate - How you will move the needle

  • You start your day diving deep into real-time utilization dashboards and capacity metrics. You analyze this data to anticipate production bottlenecks, evaluate the efficacy of our quality audits, and make rapid, high-judgment decisions on resource allocation across multiple media queues.
  • By mid-morning, you are partnering with your Team Leads. You don't just ask them for status updates; you establish rigorous feedback mechanisms and coach them to perform root-cause analysis on throughput and defect data. You review their capacity roadmaps, ruthlessly prioritize their bandwidth, and ensure they are executing to standard work while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • In the afternoon, you zoom out to focus on the Global partnership and networking, You collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders— Program Managers, Product, and Governance teams—to gather requirements for new features, propose solutions to bridge gaps in our processes or policies, and architect end-to-end processes that eliminate manual, repetitive tasks.
  • You relentlessly seek out the "voice of the client" (both internal stakeholders and end-users) to validate the real-world efficacy of our data output. You end the day by leading data-driven decision-making, highlighting weekly best performers, and ensuring our cross-trained, fungible workforce is perfectly positioned to execute the next day’s volume.

What You Will Deliver

Success Measures:

  • System and Process Quality: Maintains a department-wide accuracy baseline of 98%+ while actively reducing the overall "cost of quality." Designs, implements, and scales automated QA frameworks that systematically prevent errors before they occur.
  • SLA Adherence: Consistently delivers on global SLA commitments (e.g., reducing turnaround times from days to hours). Effectively uses data to forecast volume, map capacity, and manage resource allocation across multiple teams to ensure zero disruption during peak intake cycles.
  • Leadership Development: Successfully mentors, coaches, and elevates Team Leads. Builds a robust succession pipeline and drives a measurable increase in leadership capability, resulting in high retention and strong internal promotion rates.
  • Strategic Transformation: Lead in executing the department's transition from manual processing to AI-augmented workflows. Drives at least two major, department-wide automation or tech-integration initiatives annually that significantly reduce operating costs or manual hours.
  • Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Acts as a strategic partner to leadership, Product, and governance teams. Successfully advocates for operational needs, influences the product roadmap, and ensures India operations are seamlessly aligned with MediaRadar's long-term business goals.
  • Data-Driven Execution: Moves beyond reading dashboards to actively building them. Leverages advanced analytics (PowerBI, Looker, etc.) to track overall departmental health, identify systemic bottlenecks, and present actionable, executive-level insights to senior leadership.

Short-Term Deliverables (First 90 Days):

  • Baseline the current skill sets and identify where we have major single points of failure across our 30+ media types.
  • Implement a rigorous, data-driven feedback loop with your Team Leads (using specific defect examples and RCA prior to weekly syncs).
  • Deeply understand our production queues and utilization metrics to optimize the balance between Core Production (value-add) and Administrative Shrinkage.

Long-Term Deliverables (6 months - 1 year and beyond):

  • Establish a seamless, highly efficient operational flow across time zones that eliminates geographical friction.
  • Successfully manage the operational integration of new datasets, media channels, or M&A expansions without linearly increasing headcount.
  • Successfully groom your top Team Leads to be ready for Manager-level responsibilities.

Qualifications and skill requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data operations, data quality or shared services roles.
  • 5+ years experience of being a manager of managers i.e. managing TLs or Associate managers or managers.
  • Data Fluency: You don't just read reports; you understand how to use raw data (Looker, PowerBI, advanced Excel) to map capacity, spot bloat, and drive behavioral change.
  • Strategic Mindset: You can zoom out to understand the senior leadership’s long-term vision, and zoom in to execute the daily tactical moves required to get there.
  • (Good to have) Industry Context: Experience in media intelligence, ad-tech, data tagging, taxonomy management, or content moderation is a massive plus.
  • People Leadership & Development: You actively mentor and elevate your team. You know how to guide associates through ambiguous operational transitions, build actionable individual growth plans and cultivate a culture where team members evolve from manual task executors into proactive critical thinkers.
  • Quality & Process Excellence: You treat accuracy as the ultimate baseline, not an afterthought. You are adept at building robust QA frameworks from the ground up—even in environments with legacy tools—drastically reducing error rates and instilling a culture where high-fidelity data classification and first-time-right execution are non-negotiable.
