Maxar Space Systems is seeking an enthusiastic Lead Contracts Specialist to join our Contracts team supporting the most exciting projects in the aerospace industry. This role can be based remotely in the US.

Your Project : This position will work closely with senior contracts, business development, program managers, finance, legal and other functional groups in managing domestic and international aerospace contracts to achieve strong customer satisfaction, resolve contractual issues and perform customer coordination in accordance with agreement terms. Significant focus and creativity will be required in responding to requests for proposals and assisting with the negotiation of complex agreements, including identifying and addressing risk elements of agreements and necessary coordination with program, legal, finance and business teams, as well as management. Specific responsibilities of the Contracts Specialist will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate in the proposal process by evaluating customer documentation and contributing response input.
  • Reviewing and obtaining approval of contractual documents and adherence to company policies and acceptable risk positions.
  • Reviewing and advising implications of changes orders to contractual requirements.
  • Understand Federal Acquisition Regulations clauses and communicate ramifications of those clauses.
  • Submitting invoices for payment and conduct cash collection activities.
  • Maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Establishing and managing company contractual records.
  • Ability to offer guidance and work cooperatively with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Actively support diversity and inclusion through seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives.
  • Commitment and energy to meet customer needs and completion timeframes.
  • Negotiation of supporting documents such as non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, memorandums of understanding and other agreements.
  • Assisting with the Implementation, data entry and generating tracking reports from financial and contracts management systems.

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in contract negotiation, management, and business administration
  • Understanding of legal and finance principles governing contracts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracting under FAR
  • Ability to actively pursue problem resolution and obtain needed coordination
  • Ability to work with Maxar teams located in the Pacific Time Zone.

These skills would be amazing:

  • Demonstrated experience in the aerospace business
  • Experience in or familiarity with ITAR and export licensing laws and regulations.
  • Superior problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$92,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually.Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
