We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement team at Mercer China. This role will be based in Guangzhou Office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Leading the local MMB placement agenda
- Implementing the international and regional MMB placement roadmap.
- Developing local MMB Placement strategies and initiatives, in alignment with global and regional MMB.
- MMB carrier relationship management, to maximize support for MMB initiatives.
- Driving development of dedicated MMB broking function.
- Driving development of local MMB Placement Value Proposition, in alignment with global and regional MMB.
- Supporting development and implementation of MMB Placement Technology.
- Enhancing the local MMB placement capabilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local underwriters and operational levels of engagement with the Insurance market.
- Support MMB placement facilities terms and conditions, pricing and commission rates.
- Handle local large MMB business placements.
- Drive the most competitive deals for local clients.
- Ensure MMB approach to the market as a unified organization.
- Achieve commission uplift across the local portfolio and drive portfolio profitability.
- Generate local insurer related revenues.
- Develop a local approach towards the capturing of the placement data.
- Drive proactive development of MMB solutions to address client needs.
- Support the innovation of new products, solutions and capacity.
- Support the development of junior brokers and enhance broking skills in the organization.
- Engage with the claims function and support claims negotiations with insurers where needed.
- Resolve potential E&O's and advocate for clients on challenging claims.

What you need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree or above.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent oral and written English.
- Able to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
- Sound understanding of the Employee Health Benefits market, along with understanding of the specific role of a senior Placement Broker and its working practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant insurers, third party service providers and their products and services, and an awareness of competitors.
