The position
We're seeking a Content Marketing Manager to play a central role in raising awareness and driving growth for Maropost and its suite of commerce products. Reporting to the Director of Content and Creative, managing a team of freelancers, and being accountable to stakeholders across multiple departments, you will be responsible for developing and executing a sustainable, efficient, and conversion-focused content strategy and production process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evangelize a point of view on Maropost's copy and content strategy, including formats, channels, mediums, experiences, and copy approaches.
- Maintain and organize editorial calendars for content delivered across all funnel stages and channels (blogs, videos/scripts, ebooks, infographics, guides, reports, customer stories, presentations, social media posts, press releases, and more).
- Guide and/or create content following Maropost's content strategy, interfacing with internal and external contributors to ensure timely publishing of helpful, rich content.
- Review (and ultimately publish) content from several internal and external writers, ensuring copy is aligned with content/SEO briefs, messaging, guidelines, and personas.
- Align content marketing strategy with a growing understanding of Maropost customers and leads, their pain points, and their buying journey.
- Develop efficient processes for creating case studies and bringing the voice of the customer to life.
- Ensure all assets are SEO optimized, aligned to the latest SEO strategy, and reflect SEO best practices.
- Craft and publish social media posts across multiple accounts and channels, along with the occasional press release.
- Own reporting for content performance and surface insights to inform strategy adjustments.
- Stay up to date with industry and content marketing trends and best practices.
- Manage the content budget to ensure efficient use of internal and external resources.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of content marketing, copy editing, and copywriting, with 5+ years in content marketing or a related field.
- Strong editorial and leadership skills and 2+ years' experience managing a team of content creators (in-house and/or freelance).
- Proven track record of creating successful content programs in B2B settings, preferably in SaaS.
- Excellent time management, project management, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong editorial proofreading, grammar, and copywriting skills with the ability to provide writing samples.
- Experience with some of these content marketing, SEO, social media, and project management tools (or similar ones): Microsoft Word, Grammarly, WordPress, ChatGPT, Claude, Asana, Trello, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Canva, Figma, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Miro, Vidyard, and/or Descript.
- Highly organized and self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
