The Sr Director, Head of Customer Insights, leads a team of market research, analytical business partners and Enterprise business intelligence functions. This individual acts as a key functional leader of Advanced Analytics and Omnichannel Customer Engagement team (AAOCE), supporting analytical needs for both Neurology and Psychiatry therapeutic areas across sales, marketing, market access and medical affairs. This individual will be responsible for developing and communicating data-driven and actionable insights that drive greater customer and market understanding to inform launch & go-to market strategies and help meet in-line commercial objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the insight team consisting of functional teams across market research, competitive insights, analytical business partners, and enterprise business intelligence.
  • Responsible for setting the strategic direction, scope, design, and overseeing the delivery of well-defined projects and insights by being an independent contributor as well as leading the
  • The person will champion data driven decision making with growth mindset and embody a culture of continuous learning.
  • Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and leading teams (direct line management and indirect management of individuals with a dotted reporting line) to ensure consensus driven yet authenticate alignment across cross functional teams
  • Engage with cross functional teams and leaders across the US and Global commercial organizations to understand their strategic priorities across the commercial value chain from Business Development, Pipeline management to commercial development across launch and in-line assets and indication management.
  • Leads the translation of priorities into business needs and enables interconnected problem solving by being a thought leader and strategic partner for commercial teams and senior marketing partners.
  • Engage, influence and, if needed, challenge in cross functional discussions as an equal partner
  • Communicate & collaborate effectively with cross functional teams with competencies in market research, forecasting, commercial analytics, data science, customer engagement, data strategy, population health, competitive insights, marketing operations, medical and clinical.
  • Develop and own commercial insight generation strategy and roadmap
  • Develop a plan to address the additional needs and/or gaps to enable brand and commercial strategy by working with the functional leaders across the organization.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years market research, analytics, sales and/or brand marketing experience.
  • 6+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and goal setting for a team and individuals
  • Demonstrated experience in building marketing and/or sales strategies, leveraging analytics to lead the brand business plans, perform situations analyses.
  • Proficiency in crisp clear articulation of the business problem and solution with demonstrated ability to construct a data driven story.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead a team and be able to influence others, negotiate and build consensus.
  • Experience defining and managing projects that are unstructured to defined scope from beginning to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Accredited degree in marketing or quantitative discipline or advanced degree, including MBA, MS, or Pharmacy degree
  • Multi-disciplinary experience within market research, analytics, sales and/or brand marketing.
  • Knowledge of secondary data sources and analytic methods

Travel

  • Willingness & ability to travel up to 20-30% domestically. International travel may be required.

The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $250,000 - $290,000 and eligibility for a 30% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
