The Role
Lumen is seeking a Lead Software developer. This team player translates product vision and requirements into software design.
This role will shape how Lumen combines the latest technologies and services to automate all aspects of software deployment and instance lifecycle management using AI stack. Passionate about software automation and quality is always a priority. This role will collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization including but not limited to executive leadership, product owners, developers, and testers to plan, develop, and implement solutions to optimize and automate business and technical processes.
Location
This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.
The Main Responsibilities
- Development of Gen AI applications and conduct reviews.
- Write clean and maintainable code, improve the system architecture
- Participate in meetings and conferences to gather requirements, discuss architectural decisions, and collaborate on innovative solutions.
- Develop frameworks, libraries, and tools to expedite GenAI application development.
- Explore new technologies in the Gen AI space like MCP and agent protocols, and drive adoption of these advancements to enhance our AI capabilities.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or the equivalent in training and experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in Java/Python development
- Well-versed with development using frameworks like Spring / Spring Boot / FastAPI / Django.
- Well-versed with REST API development and security standards (OAuth2.0, OIDC etc),
- Experience using any SQL database (Oracle/PostgreSQL, etc) and any NoSQL databases –MongoDB/Couchbase.
- Experience on GenAI Development using Python, Langchain, Vector Datastores(Azure, Pincone etc), Large language models like Llama, Open AI etc.
- Well-versed with prompt engineering techniques and using frameworks like Semantic Kernel, LangGraph etc
- Experience using a container ecosystem – Kubernetes, Docker.
- Experience working on developing and deploying applications on any cloud platform (AWS / GCP / Azure)
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines for application development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Well-versed in system design principles and performance engineering.

$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
