About the role
As Luma's QA Automation Lead, you understand that quality assurance is critical to delivering exceptional financial technology solutions that our clients trust. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will help drive the QA automation standards and be tasked with creating robust testing solutions for our clients. Our services run on AWS and we use just about every technology Amazon offers. We have a browser-based SPA, and our backend is built on microservice architecture.

What you'll do
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, and other modern testing tools
- Architect and maintain scalable test automation solutions that integrate seamlessly with our microservice architecture and CI/CD pipelines
- Provide mentorship and leadership to both QA and Software Development teams, fostering growth in automation best practices and testing methodologies across all development teams
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Team Leads, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to integrate QA processes throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies covering UI automation, API testing, data validation, and end-to-end testing scenarios
- Implement and maintain test management and traceability tools to ensure comprehensive test coverage and reporting
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance testing efficiency and reduce testing cycle times
- Communicate testing strategies, results, and quality metrics clearly to stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Drive continuous improvement of QA processes and automation frameworks
- Stay current with industry trends in test automation, quality assurance methodologies, and emerging testing technologies

What we require:
- Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience with Playwright for modern web application testing
- 5+ years of experience with QA automation frameworks including Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools
- Strong programming skills with hands-on experience writing test cases in TypeScript and Java
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring QA automation teams
- Extensive API testing experience with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks
- Data testing and validation experience including database testing and data integrity verification
- Test management and traceability tools experience (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Test architecture design experience with demonstrated success in at least 1-2 major projects
- CI/CD pipeline integration expertise with experience incorporating automated tests into deployment workflows
- Experience with AI tools and automation to improve testing productivity and cycle efficiency
- Deep understanding of QA best practices, testing methodologies, and quality processes
- Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder reporting
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices testing strategies
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries
- Certifications in test automation or quality assurance
