Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Depending on the project, translate and ensure target text correctly reflects the meaning of the source.
• Perform linguistic tasks as per project instructions and other references (translation memory, glossary, style guides, etc.).
• Ensure high-grammatical accuracy while maintaining key terminology, spotting inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references.
• Correct formatting/tagging, punctuation, country specifics, terminology, style, fluency as per guidelines.

Requirements

• Native in target language with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience
• IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools
• Preferred experience as a translator specialized in translation and proofreading of the required field depending on individual fields of expertise (marketing ad/and software and/or legal)

· Comfortable with technology.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills.
• As a plus, experience translating content containing embedded variables in an XML environment with a high comfort level in manipulating XML type tags during translation.
• Demonstrated aptitude to independently learn new technologies - some projects might be performed using proprietary localisation tool sets.
• Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
• Flexibility to respond and react to changing priorities quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent written and spoken English to truly understand the meaning and translate as if it were originally written in target language.
• Obsessed by the detail, quality-driven and has a passion for languages.
• Understanding and attitude to work within a confidential environment.
• Able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment with multiple changes in project priorities and tight deadlines
• Available to travel as the business calls
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Good availability, potentially at least 4 hours per day and quick response times
