Junior Data Engineer

LemFi (YC S21) is building the neo-bank for the African diaspora in North America & Europe & the UK. We provide our users with a multi-currency account that allows them to hold, send, and receive money from Africa in any currency for their business and personal banking needs.

Job Summary:

As a crucial member of our growing Data Team, you will work closely with our lead data engineer to build and enhance internal data processes. You'll be instrumental in supporting operational analytics needs. You will also be integrating with numerous provider platforms, and standardizing data ingestion and processing across various departments for key business processes.

Responsibilities are as follows:

• Standardize data pipelines and analytics for Management Information and for decision-making purposes across multiple departments.
• Collaborate with the lead data engineer to develop, test, and maintain scalable data architecture and data pipelines.
• Assist in migrating data loading processes to optimal modern tools with strong data culture and robust processes.
• Implement data transformations using dbt and orchestrate workflows utilizing Dagster.

Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Strong excel understanding, preferably with previous exposure to comprehending and converting stakeholders’ excel logic into code and data pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM, or related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, data modelling, API integrations.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and current data tools.
• Experience with or willingness to learn modern data stack tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster.
