The Business Development Manager (BDM) for our Digital Performance Solutions Group is a key driver of growth and strategic expansion for our organization. Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and leading initiatives to secure projects, they play a pivotal part in shaping the company's trajectory. They employ a combination of market analysis, relationship-building, and project pursuit skills to achieve ambitious revenue targets. Collaboration with internal teams, crafting persuasive proposals, forging strategic partnerships and staying abreast of industry, they contribute to the company's continued success by leveraging their expertise to drive business growth and establish our market presence.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Market Research and Analysis
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and develop effective business strategies.
  • Evaluate potential projects based on strategic fit, technical feasibility, financial viability, and alignment with the company's strengths.
Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, EPCs, economic development agencies and other relevant industry players.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create mutually beneficial partnerships that drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure a seamless customer experience and alignment of strategies across departments.
Market Expansion
  • Drive the company's expansion into new markets by assessing market entry strategies, regulatory requirements, and other considerations.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and grow our customer base.
Business Development
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans that align with the company's overall strategy.
  • Identify target markets, customer segments, and geographic regions for expansion.
  • Identify and assess potential business opportunities through networking, lead generation, and industry research.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of new business initiatives, including financial projections and risk assessment.
  • Manage the business development pipeline, tracking leads, opportunities, and conversions.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on pipeline status and progress.
Sales Performance
  • Nurture leads through the sales pipeline and convert them into valuable business relationships.
  • Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, including technical solutions, pricing strategies, project timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure proposals are tailored to meet client needs and showcase our capabilities effectively.
  • Contribute to the execution of the marketing strategy and business development plans.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Minimum 5 years' industrial sales experience in B2B environment
  • Experience navigating government bids and RFPs (request for proposal)
  • DEC in Engineering Technologies or Bachelors of Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of industrial automation products and services
  • Knowledge of heavy industry market in Eastern Canada
  • Knowledge of EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, Construction)
  • Knowledge of market dynamics, trends and competitive landscapes
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software (Intermediate)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
  • Communication skills, written and verbal, in French
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English would be considered an asset

WORK LOCATION: Kirkland, QC - Requires frequent travelling
