Kit Check, now rebranded as Bluesight, The Medication Intelligence™ Company, embarked on its journey in 2011 with a clear mission: to revolutionize medication management within hospital pharmacies. The initial spark for the company came from a conversation co-founder Kevin MacDonald had with a hospital pharmacist friend who described the tedious and error-prone manual process of checking and refilling medication kits. Recognizing the potential for technology to address this critical pain point, MacDonald, with his background in RFID technology, teamed up with Tim Kress-Spatz, who brought expertise in large-scale systems. Their vision was to bring visibility, simplicity, and predictability to the complex world of medication supply management.

What began with a focus on automating pharmacy kit restocking using RFID technology quickly evolved. The company's first product aimed to significantly reduce the time pharmacists spent on manual checks, while simultaneously improving accuracy and patient safety. The rebranding to Bluesight in 2022 signified the company's evolution into a comprehensive suite of Medication Intelligence™ software solutions, designed to provide a complete picture of the pharmaceutical supply chain from manufacturing to patient administration.
