About Kazi Foods

Kazi Farms Group is a prominent group of businesses in Bangladesh, primarily known for its significant contributions to the poultry industry. Established in 1996 by Kazi Zahedul Hasan as a hatchery for imported eggs, Kazi Farms Limited quickly expanded its operations. The following year, it started its own parent farms, and by 2004, production began in its grand-parent (GP) farms. This milestone also marked Bangladesh's first exports of hatching eggs and day-old chicks in the same year. The group's managing director, Kazi Zahedul Hasan, was recognized as the Businessperson of the Year in 2004 by The Daily Star/DHL Business Awards.

The core purpose of Kazi Farms Group is to produce high-quality chicks and feed to support the productivity and prosperity of poultry farmers, and to provide safe eggs and chicken for consumers. Their vision is a more prosperous Bangladesh where poultry farmers generate income by producing safe food. Kazi Farms is the Bangladesh Grand-Parent franchisee for Cobb-Vantress (Cobb 500) and Avigen Indian River, globally recognized as top broiler breeds. Their broiler chicks are considered high-performing in the domestic market. Additionally, Kazi Farms is the distributor for Hy-line brown and white layers in Bangladesh, with Hy-line International being a leading layer breeder. The company's own commercial layer farms position it as the largest producer of commercial table eggs in Bangladesh. In 2006, Kazi Farms expanded into poultry feed manufacturing, rapidly becoming a market leader in quality and volume. They also produce organic fertilizer, which helps replenish soil organic content and improve long-term fertility. Beyond poultry, the group has diversified into other sectors. Kazi Food Industries Limited produces ice cream under the Bellissimo and ZaNZee brands, as well as frozen food products under the Kazi Farms Kitchen brand. In 2015, Kazi Media Limited started broadcasting Deepto TV. Sysnova Information Systems Limited, another sister concern, customizes and implements free/open-source Enterprise Resource Planning software. Kazi Farms Group is also noted for running most of its office computers on free and open-source software like Linux.
