Infrastructure Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business-critical systems, optimize infrastructure operations, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, virtualization, and cloud services.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across systems, networks, and applications.
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage backup and recovery processes, patch management, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure-related incidents and provide Level 2/3 support.
- Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to ensure smooth IT service delivery.
- Document infrastructure configurations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to optimize infrastructure performance and cost.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Solid networking expertise (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with monitoring, automation, and configuration management tools.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Industry certifications (CCNA, MCSE, AWS/Azure, VMware VCP) are a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and IT service management.
