This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Product Management (Data & AI Governance) in the United States.
As the Vice President of Data & AI Governance, you will lead the development and execution of a new product line focused on enterprise data and AI governance. You will define the strategy, build a high-performing team, and design frameworks that ensure data trust, compliance, and ethical AI practices. Your role spans strategy, product management, and collaboration with engineering, sales, and strategic partners to embed governance into core solutions. You will set the culture, define success metrics, and drive thought leadership in governance, ensuring that solutions meet evolving regulatory requirements. Accountabilities:
- Define and own the go-to-market strategy and roadmap for data & AI governance offerings, aligning with market demand, regulatory trends, and core product ecosystem.
- Build, lead, and scale a team across governance strategy, metadata & lineage, data quality, model governance, policy & compliance, risk management, and enablement.
- Develop governance frameworks, standards, and toolsets covering data governance, model governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with engineering teams to embed governance capabilities into enterprise AI and data platforms.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, risk, and security functions to anticipate and respond to regulatory requirements.
- Evangelize governance as a value differentiator to internal and external stakeholders, quantifying business outcomes such as trust, risk reduction, and audit readiness.
- Track KPIs for the business unit, manage budget, resources, and roadmap prioritization, and make strategic decisions on tooling and partnerships.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, AI, and governance roles, with at least 5–7 years in senior leadership (VP/Director) positions.
- Proven experience building and scaling governance programs in enterprise software, cloud, or data-centric companies.
- Deep knowledge of data governance disciplines: metadata/lineage, data quality, stewardship, master data management, data cataloging, and model governance.
- Expertise in AI/ML governance, including model monitoring, bias mitigation, transparency, and auditability.
- Strong strategic business acumen with the ability to translate governance investments into measurable business value.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience operating in regulated environments, understanding privacy laws, AI regulations, and data sovereignty.
- Demonstrated ability to launch new products, define product-market fit, and scale go-to-market strategies.
- Proven track record in technology strategy, tool selection, vendor ecosystems, and partnerships.
