As a Team Lead in Engineering, you will combine hands-on development with leadership responsibilities to deliver scalable, high-quality Node.js applications. You will guide cross-functional teams, foster technical excellence, and ensure alignment between engineering and business objectives. This role requires mentoring, code review, and active participation in technical decision-making while promoting Agile practices and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to shape both team culture and product strategy in a fast-paced, remote-first environment, contributing to impactful solutions that serve millions of users globally.
Accountabilities
- Lead 1–2 cross-functional engineering teams, balancing hands-on development (65%) with leadership duties (35%).
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable Node.js applications with high-quality standards.
- Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to create exceptional user experiences.
- Drive technical planning, innovation, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and Agile adoption across teams.
- Participate in hiring, performance management, and the cultivation of an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and RESTful API design.
- 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineers, with proven ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical acumen with a track record of building scalable, robust systems.
- Experience with automated unit, functional, and integration testing.
- Ability to combine strategic vision with attention to technical detail.
- Commitment to team collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Bonus: Experience in cross-browser/platform development, open-source contributions, or multiple tech stacks.
