In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and operation of cloud-based platforms within a highly collaborative and innovative environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient GCP infrastructure while applying best practices in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and cloud security. This position involves hands-on engineering, mentoring, and driving technical standards across the platform engineering team. Accountabilities:
The Sr. GCP Platform Engineer ensures reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure:
- Design, implement, and maintain GCP infrastructure, including Organizations, Projects, Networking, and cloud-native services.
- Drive infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Python, Bash, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with platform and software engineering teams to deliver technically sound and secure cloud solutions.
- Lead containerized application deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, and related technologies.
- Apply cloud security best practices, DevSecOps methodologies, and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and provide guidance for resolution.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and requirements to deployment and monitoring.
Requirements
Candidates should bring a strong combination of cloud engineering expertise and hands-on experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience creating and managing infrastructure in GCP.
- Proven track record of delivering technical solutions balancing complexity, performance, and maintainability.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, Git workflows, and automation.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, and containerization technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare) is a plus.
