Software Developer in Test (Remote - India)

As a Software Developer in Test, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of enterprise-grade software systems. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and help drive a culture of quality across complex distributed systems. Collaborating closely with development, DevOps, and product teams, you will identify and mitigate risks early, provide actionable feedback, and enhance release confidence. Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated tests for backend services, APIs, and system integrations.
• Implement comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, performance, and security scenarios.
• Perform manual testing of new features early in development to validate functionality, usability, and edge cases.
• Integrate automated regression suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous deployment.
• Investigate, triage, and debug complex issues in production and test environments.
• Drive root cause analysis of test failures and production defects.
• Contribute to the evolution of internal test tools, frameworks, and automation best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, DevOps, product managers, and support teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET, QA automation engineer, or similar software engineering in test role.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages for test automation, such as Go, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience building and maintaining test frameworks for REST APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with identity and access management concepts and protocols (e.g., OAuth2, SAML, SCIM, Zero Trust).
• Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills, comfortable working with logs, metrics, and monitoring tools like Grafana or Kibana.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to solving complex testing challenges.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Go in testing or development contexts.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, Gatling).
• Background in security or identity software testing.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to DevSecOps principles and practices.
