In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing and modernizing a mature, large-scale desktop application built on the .NET Framework and WPF. You will design and implement new features, refactor legacy components, and optimize performance to deliver a responsive, maintainable, and scalable solution. Working closely with a team of engineers, QA specialists, and designers, you will contribute to high-quality software delivery in a collaborative and fully remote environment. This position requires a hands-on engineer who thrives on ownership, technical challenges, and improving user experience through clean, maintainable code.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using .NET Framework (4.5–4.8), C#, and WPF.
- Build rich, interactive user interfaces using XAML and MVVM design principles.
- Enhance legacy features and implement new components in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring a responsive and stable application.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, and QA teams to ensure smooth feature delivery.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues, delivering robust and sustainable fixes.
- Participate in ongoing refactoring and modernization initiatives to improve code quality and architecture.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in software development.
- Strong expertise in .NET Framework (4.5–4.8), C#, WPF, and XAML.
- Proficiency in MVVM architecture, data binding, and dependency injection.
- Solid understanding of multi-threaded programming, UI performance, and memory management.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Familiarity with WCF services, REST APIs, and integrating third-party components (preferred).
- Knowledge of WPF performance profiling and debugging tools (preferred).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (preferred).
- Ability to work remotely with at least three hours of US time overlap (typically 7:00 PM–10:00 PM IST).
