This role focuses on designing, building, and scaling secure identity and authentication solutions that protect millions of users. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, from concept and architecture to deployment and monitoring, ensuring high reliability, performance, and security. Working in a collaborative, remote-friendly environment, you will partner with product managers, designers, and infrastructure teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize highly scalable distributed systems and full-stack features for identity and security products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and user-focused solutions.
- Enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while driving best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in architectural discussions and help define technical roadmaps.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly, articulating trade-offs, security considerations, and customer impact.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Ensure operational excellence by prioritizing observability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience developing production-grade backend systems in modern languages (Java, Golang, Python, or equivalent) with a focus on security, reliability, and performance.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and React or similar frameworks.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and database design.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Expertise in designing high-scale, low-latency services and APIs.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in complex distributed applications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience in identity and access management, authentication protocols, fraud detection systems, or verification technologies such as SMS, biometrics, and TOTP. Experience in geographically distributed teams is a plus.
