As a Senior Ruby-on-Rails Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling a rapidly growing AI platform that serves millions of users worldwide. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to implement robust backend solutions, optimize performance, and deliver seamless experiences. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where your contributions will shape product architecture, influence feature development, and help define technical best practices. You will have the opportunity to experiment with new ideas, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate in a remote-first, fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes ownership, velocity, and building products that prioritize user experience while maintaining technical excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Ruby-on-Rails.
- Implement integration plans, code reviews, and testing pipelines for new features.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to define project specifications.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmap planning.
- Experiment with new approaches and propose improvements to backend processes.
- Mentor teammates and ensure high-quality software craftsmanship.
- Support product scalability and reliability for millions of users.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack engineer, with strong expertise in Ruby-on-Rails.
- Experience in agile, fast-paced scale-up environments and building products used by thousands or millions of users.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; fluent in English.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering results.
- Ability to balance software craftsmanship with speed of delivery.
- User-centric mindset with a focus on creating excellent product experiences.
- Comfortable working on uncensored AI content (#NSFW products).
- Bonus: experience in generative AI, NLP, ML, or working with distributed teams.
