This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Privacy & Governance Analyst in the United States.
In this position, you will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive data privacy and governance strategies that ensure compliance with global regulations while enabling secure data-driven innovation. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, IT, legal, and risk teams to establish and enforce policies, conduct audits, and oversee incident response procedures. This is a high-impact role where your expertise in privacy frameworks and regulatory standards will directly safeguard customer trust, strengthen data governance, and support business growth. The position is fully remote, with occasional travel up to three times per year for key strategic meetings and training events.
Accountabilities
- Develop, implement, and manage enterprise-wide data privacy and governance programs aligned with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Serve as a key liaison between leadership, IT, Legal, Risk Management, and operational teams to ensure data privacy best practices.
- Oversee privacy incident response and investigations, ensuring timely reporting and risk mitigation.
- Establish compliance controls and monitor adherence through audits and assessments.
- Provide expert guidance on data collection, storage, and sharing practices to ensure legal and policy compliance.
- Conduct and manage privacy impact assessments and data subject access requests.
- Deliver company-wide training and awareness programs on data privacy and security.
- Support vendor risk management efforts, assessing data protection measures of third-party providers.
- Serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) or Privacy Officer, engaging with regulators as needed.
- Act as the subject matter expert for privacy-related technologies and frameworks, ensuring continuous program improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing data privacy and governance within large organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of international and domestic privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, PIPEDA, CAN-SPAM, etc.).
- Proven ability to develop policies and procedures that align business objectives with compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the importance of data privacy across all levels.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and build trust.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience preparing high-quality reports and presentations.
- Demonstrated impartiality and integrity in addressing compliance issues.
