This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging, greenfield software projects, collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions. The Ruby on Rails Developer will leverage their expertise to solve complex problems using modern technology stacks, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software. You will interact with key stakeholders, influence technical decisions, and help ensure the success of projects by implementing best practices in Agile development, DevOps, and automated testing. The position is fully remote, operating on U.S. Eastern or Central Time, and provides a supportive, collaborative environment where continuous learning, mentorship, and professional growth are encouraged.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work directly with client stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored software solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Apply Agile and DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and TDD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React where needed.
- Identify and propose solutions to technical challenges, ensuring innovative approaches are applied to complex problems.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the team.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails development.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Experience in high-growth technology companies or startups.
- Familiarity with Scrum, unit testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with relational databases and modern software development tools.
- Relevant professional experience in IT or consulting, with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and client-focused mindset.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and available to work U.S. Eastern or Central Time hours.
