This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Program Manager, Card Network Office (CNO) in the United States.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to build a new function overseeing card network compliance and operational excellence. You will develop programs and processes to manage card network updates, ensuring compliance while optimizing business operations. Positioned at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to assess mandates, monitor compliance, and drive strategic initiatives. The role demands a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of payment networks. You will help shape processes from the ground up and ensure the organization is proactively prepared for industry changes.
Accountabilities:
- Establish and implement a release management process for card network mandates, advising cross-functional teams on impacts, timelines, and necessary changes.
- Review, analyze, and prioritize biannual card network releases, facilitating communication between engineering teams and external technical partners.
- Develop a framework to monitor compliance with network requirements and internal policies, conducting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain metrics and dashboards to monitor and analyze network mandates, enabling data-driven decision-making across teams.
- Manage the intake process for new mandates, ensuring timely assessment, prioritization, and resolution of waiver requests.
- Engage with external network partners through forums, councils, and strategic meetings to build relationships and advocate for organizational priorities.
- Serve as the organization’s advocate within the card network ecosystem, ensuring business considerations and operational constraints are represented.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the payments industry, with deep expertise in card networks, compliance, and associated rules.
- Strong understanding of acquiring platforms, payment systems, and their interaction with card network products.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA and familiarity with card network portals; skilled in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams to develop new processes and strategies.
- Strong program and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders beyond direct reporting lines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex topics to both internal and external partners.
- Comfortable operating with minimal guidance in ambiguous or evolving environments; capable of shaping a new program from the ground up.
- Strategic thinker adept at identifying cross-functional issues and proposing actionable, innovative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a payment service provider (PSP), card network, or high-growth technology company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Technology, or a related field.
