Operational Engineer Sr - Azure DevOps, AWS Serverless

As a Senior Operational Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a cloud-based SaaS platform, ensuring its stability, performance, and reliability. You will act as the first responder for production incidents, handle deployments, and maintain operational procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance observability, automation, and continuous integration processes. The role involves working with global teams in a DevOps-oriented environment, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the evolution of a high-performance, multi-tenant billing and revenue management system. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and cloud-native architectures while maintaining high operational standards in a collaborative and innovative environment. Flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential, as you will support enterprise-grade applications across multiple time zones.

Accountabilities

• Serve as the primary responder for production incidents, performing triage and ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues.
• Deploy and configure cloud-native applications, ensuring uptime, reliability, and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and architecture teams to improve monitoring, logging, and alerting across the application stack.
• Create and maintain operational playbooks, SOPs, and documentation for recurring tasks and incident management.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and DevOps activities.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise and fostering skill development.
• Coordinate with global teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing and operating enterprise-grade applications.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, with a preference for Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash, and relational databases like PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications using AWS services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and customer support skills, with experience in production support and on-call rotations.
• Exposure to the telecom billing domain is a strong advantage.
