Accountabilities:
- Translate design specifications into responsive, standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop and maintain front-end code using vanilla JavaScript and frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Ensure web applications are accessible (WCAG 2 compliance), performant, and visually consistent across devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with design and back-end teams to integrate APIs and implement interactive features.
- Conduct quality assurance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high usability standards.
- Contribute to process improvements, code reviews, and front-end best practices.
- Document technical decisions and maintain clear communication across project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, including frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Understanding of usability, accessibility standards (WCAG 2, AA minimum), and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with CSS preprocessors (SCSS, Sass, Less) and task runners like Gulp.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite for interpreting specifications.
- Strong eye for design accuracy, consistency, and ability to improvise when necessary.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating front-end skills, including at least one of: portfolio website, project examples with URLs, or GitHub repositories with explanations of contributions.
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Desired: knowledge of Git, package managers (npm/Yarn), build tools (Webpack, Vite), CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore), back-end experience, or working with external APIs.
