In this role, you will lead a specialized engineering team responsible for building scalable and reliable blockchain indexing pipelines that power critical data, analytics, and staking services. You’ll balance technical direction with people leadership, guiding engineers through architectural decisions, execution strategies, and professional growth. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, Data Science, and Analytics, you will ensure indexing solutions deliver measurable business impact while maintaining scalability, security, and observability. Accountabilities
As an Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of software and data engineers through regular feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Define the architecture for protocol indexers and data pipelines using Python and Go, ensuring scalability, observability, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee technical execution across new protocol coverage, system improvements, and maintenance while driving measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, and other stakeholders to prioritize high-impact indexing work and align on data contracts, schemas, and SLAs.
- Advocate for platform investments such as refactoring, tooling, CI/CD improvements, and data quality frameworks.
- Monitor and improve delivery metrics like freshness, accuracy, coverage, and cycle time.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, transparency, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with ownership of production data systems in cloud environments.
- At least 2 years managing engineers, with proven outcomes in hiring, performance management, and career growth.
- Hands-on ability to review production code in Python or Go and provide technical direction.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, quality frameworks, and warehouse technologies such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience collaborating across Product and Analytics teams to define data contracts and SLAs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a customer and product-focused mindset.
- Nice-to-haves include blockchain/Web3 knowledge, experience with distributed remote teams, and observability practices at the data and service layers.
