We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Developer to design, build, and maintain robust data systems supporting enterprise applications. In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into efficient database structures, ensure data integrity, and optimize performance across large-scale systems. You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing database solutions. Accountabilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems that align with business and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into logical and physical database models.
- Develop schemas, tables, and data structures to support high-performance applications.
- Perform query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning for large datasets.
- Implement and maintain data governance, backup, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with development teams to support integration and quality assurance testing.
- Ensure data security, manage access controls, and maintain compliance with policies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 14 years of experience, or equivalent (Master’s with 12 years, PhD with 9 years).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in SQL development and database management.
- Strong knowledge of database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in database architecture, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with performance tuning, ETL processes (SSIS, Informatica, Talend), and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
