Job Summary:
The Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining robust data processing solutions within our healthcare analytics platform. This role focuses on developing T-SQL stored procedures, managing data transformations, and supporting our reporting infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings 2-4 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server and T-SQL development, with a passion for working with healthcare data.
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with SQL Server database development and T-SQL programming. While knowledge of healthcare claims processing and reporting tools is beneficial, we provide comprehensive on-the-job training in these areas. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain T-SQL stored procedures for data processing and transformation
- Design and optimize SQL Server databases for healthcare analytics workflows
- Build data extraction and transformation processes using raw T-SQL
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Support data quality initiatives and troubleshoot data processing issues
- Learn and utilize myDBR reporting tool for creating reports and visualizations
- Assist in developing healthcare claims processing workflows and data validation
- Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for data processes
- Monitor and optimize database performance for large healthcare datasets
- Support ad-hoc data analysis requests from stakeholders
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Who is SmartLight Analytics- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or database development
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL programming
- Experience writing complex stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Solid understanding of database design principles and optimization techniques
- Experience with data transformation and ETL processes using T-SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with healthcare data, medical claims, or prescription claims processing
- Knowledge of myDBR or similar reporting tools
- Understanding of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
- Background in data analysis or business intelligence
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or cloud platforms
- Knowledge of data visualization principles
