This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Corporate Enterprise Network (WAN) – Network Engineer (Senior) in the United States.
This senior-level network engineering role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale WAN and LAN infrastructures across multiple locations. You will play a critical role in ensuring secure, high-performance, and reliable connectivity for global operations, integrating cloud services, and supporting hybrid networks. The role requires collaboration with IT, cybersecurity, and development teams to deliver resilient network solutions that meet compliance and operational standards. You will also contribute to network modernization, optimization, and automation initiatives while mentoring junior engineers. This position demands technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution in complex enterprise and government environments.
Accountabilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN architectures supporting mission-critical systems.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, addressing latency, routing, and connectivity issues proactively.
- Integrate cloud connectivity solutions such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and GCP Interconnect.
- Implement network security measures, access controls, segmentation, and Zero Trust principles.
- Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end network integrity and operational compliance.
- Support network automation and configuration management using tools like Ansible, Cisco DNA Center, or Python scripting.
- Participate in network modernization, optimization, and cloud migration projects.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship with active Secret clearance and eligibility for IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) / Critical Sensitive access.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including enterprise network engineering and telecommunications.
- Proven experience managing large-scale LAN/WAN infrastructures in DoD or Federal environments.
- Proficiency in routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), VLANs, VPNs, network security practices, and 10-Gigabit Ethernet LAN systems.
- Experience with network automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Cisco DNA Center, Python).
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud connectivity and SD-WAN solutions.
- Familiarity with DISA STIG, DoD RMF, and network accreditation processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA (required), CISSP (preferred), CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, CompTIA Network+.
